The autumn Agora 2014 was organized in Cagliari, Italy between October 29 and November 2, 2014. Agora is the biggest biannual event where important issues related to our European student organisation, AEGEE are decided. There were almost 900 participants from all over Europe including three delegates, Hanna Juntunen, Outi Jussila and Soila, who represented AEGEE-Helsinki. This Agora achieved a lot of attention beforehand, for instance almost 3000 likes on Facebook, multiple publicities etc., and therefore participants were keen on seeing what AEGEE-Cagliari had planned for the general assembly of AEGEE this time. The event took place in a conference centre called Fiera Internazionale della Sardegna (International Fair of Sardinia) with good connections to the city centre and the beach. All activities, seminars, and facilities were located at the same area. Amazing!

The Spring Agora 2014 took place in Patra, Greece between 30.04.2014 and 05.05.2014. Even before starting, this Agora got a nickname “Popcorn Agora”. Why? In this Agora, as in every spring Agora, the delegates voted upon the new Comité Directeur for AEGEE. And most expected voting was (of course) the voting of the new President of AEGEE-Europe. And this year there were three candidates. At the questions and answers session these candidates got to answer some tough questions.

The slogan under which Agora was held is "Together for Europe" and it was not chosen randomly, as the event was organized by 7 antennas: Mannheim, Heidelberg, Darmstadt, Frankfurt, Karlsruhe, Mainz Wiesbaden, and Kaiserslautern - and they did it together for AEGEE. The autumn Agora 2012 took place from the 31st of October till the 4th of November in Budapest, Hungary. The event was exceptional for two reasons. First of all it had record amount of applicants – thus unfortunately almost half of the applications had to be rejected. Secondly Aegee-Budapest, being one of the biggest antennas in Aegee-network with a long history, much experience and vast number of members, organised Agora for the second time.

This year European Boards Meeting (EBM) was held in Izmir 9th to 12th of February. Izmir is a coastal city in Turkey known as holiday paradise in the summer. This time we visited Izmir the coldest time of the year so unfortunately we couldn't enjoy the beach. Actually there was even snow in Istanbul! Even though we couldn't go to the beach we experienced a lot. The city is really beautiful even in the winter and we had the change to see the true Turkish hospitality and all the main points of interest. The mixture of European and Asian cultures was truly visible everywhere we went.Read more
