FOCUS – Fotos Creating Understanding was a project about means of visual communication and the effect of culture in interpreting pictures. The event took place in Helsinki in September 2009 with 30 participants from Poland, Italy, Turkey and Finland.
The results of the project are also presented in a visual way: We have installed a photo exhibition about the event at Kaisaniemi metro station. The exhibition will be there until 31 January 2010.

Report from Network Meeting in Helsinki 8.-11.10.2009

For one unforgettable weekend, almost 50 students and young adults from all over Europe gathered together in Finland to get to know each other and to learn useful skills in areas such as PR, team work and fundraising.
The event’s program included one day of sightseeing and social program in Helsinki. For the weekend, 15 enthusiastic Finns joined the foreign participants in Broby, Tammisaari.
Having people from more than 15 countries at the cottage in Broby guaranteed a truly international atmosphere. Besides the workshops, the program included outdoor games, sauna parties and the European night where everybody had a chance to present food and drinks from their own countries. All this ensured an intensive weekend where networking continued almost around the clock!
Fall Network Meeting 2009 in Helsinki 8.-11.10.2009

AEGEE-Helsinki is happy to invite you to the Fall Network Meeting (NWM) 08.-11.10.2009 in Helsinki and Broby. The NWM will offer you interesting workshop sessions and a platform to exchange ideas and experiences, as well as sightseeing and partying.
We will especially concentrate on networking between antennae – you will have a chance to hear recent developments of AEGEE-Europe and locals around Europe, as well as make new connections during the long autumn nights in Helsinki and of course during our unforgettable European night! During the weekend you will also have a chance to get more knowledge on PR issues and event management. Most of all, we’re excited to welcome participants who are interested in strengthening their local antennae and making new friends around Europe – and of course, interested in seeing our beautiful country, one of the northernmost in the AEGEE network!

Does October seem dark and gloomy to you? Would you like to take a week off from your daily routines in a fun international project?
AEGEE-Lublin organizes an exchange with an EU-related theme on 18-25.10.2009. Participants for the exchange will come from Helsinki, Enschede (Netherlands), Naples (Italy) and Patra (Greece). The program consists of discussions and workshops related to the EU, not to forget getting to know new cultures and people.

Cultural Exchange in Helsinki 18-26 September
FOCUS – FOtos Creating UnderStanding is a multilateral project that gathers 32 young people from Finland, Italy, Poland and Turkey for seven days in Helsinki. The theme of the project is visual communication.
Media and photos are part of our everyday life, so it is important to have a critical attitude towards the images we see around us. Our goal is to develop understanding of pictures and their constructed nature through means of visual communication, such as photographing nd through learning to analyse images.
Are You interested in participating? We gladly welcome everyone, who is would like to contribute to the preparations or help realizing the event. As an organizer you will be able to join the activities together with our participants.
